Question

My bank issued me a cashier's check, because they closed my business account. I cashed the cashier's check at a check cashing store. Now, the bank has placed a stop payment on the cashier's check pending an investigation. The check cashing store is threatening me to take out a warrant on me in Magistrate court...can they do this?

Answer

The fact that you deliberately left out the one thing that obviously matters here (banks do not close out accounts unless you do something bad - be it bounce checks or commit fraud, etc).

When you don't tell lawyers the facts, you'll get a useless answer.

Since it is pretty obvious that you are facing some type of bank fraud charge (which likely is a federal felony), plus a bad check charge related to cashing the check, you need to invest in a very good criminal attorney. Make sure you tell him all the things you deliberately left out here. Leaving out things because you think they make you lok bad is an excellent way to break into prison.
