As a child I was places in foster care, I don't know my biological parents. However, I was adopted by a single man who in turn took me in at the age of 8. I lived with this man up until 15 when he passed away. I then was taken in by one of his friends, who took custody of me for the remaining 3 years. My birth certificate has the mans name on it and no mother name. I never knew my social security number up until recently when I found a book with a number next to my name. The problem is this man turns out to be an illegal immigrant. The state has no record of him besides him being an illegal. And when I went to the Social Security office. The number I provided the clerk pulled up my name, but did not list any parents at all. My question is how was I able to be adopted by an illegal immigrant? Why doesn't the state have any information on him, or me beside my name and social? What can I do about this? I feel like I should have never been gave away to an illegal.
