Question

I received a letter from my ex employer of almost 4 months saying I owe them 157000 and I have 10 days to pay of they will take further actio

Answer

IME, they will file a case with the police no matter what you do. It will be a 2nd degree felony theft case, most likely. I wouldn't communicate with your ex employer unless you have an attorney do it for you. Don't make any statements. Don't pay any restitution. Later on, after they file the case, the restitution can and WILL be a bargaining chip. Right now, they probably just want you to make a statement or say something incriminating and then file a case against you. I've handled many large theft cases like this. It's very rare that there's ever a real chance to pay restitution and walk away, if it's a legit case against you. You need a lawyer.

Michael.

Answer

Get a lawyer and let them take further action so you can find out what they are talking about. This might be rejected as a civil matter, which again would give you a bargaining chip. If you pay the money you won't have it. If you don't pay the money, they won't have it.

With an amount this large you need a receipt and a release of liability.
