I paid a deposit on a used car that I was purchasing through a private individual. On the bill of sale he wrote clear car fax, but when I ran a car fax report it showed that it had been in two accidents with front end damage. Now he claims he ran the report from another company and the accidents didn't show up so he refuses to give me my $500 deposit back. Also, the car wasn't even in his name although he cashed the check. It was actually in his son's name so did he even have authority to take my money?
