I found out today that my auto insurance company is charging me a fee that wasn't reported or explained to me. When I asked where I could find information about the fee, I was told it wasn't documented on any of my policy documents and was related to a State required fee. Can they charge me a fee that isn't documented anywhere or explained to me?

Since you haven't told us what the fee was or where you saw the fee (it has to be on something for you to know about it) there is no way to answer you.
