I am married and my husband has a 8 y.o. son with another woman. He pays mortgage but the house is only in his name (I'm not added in the mortgage).
If something bad happens and he passes away can his son (or the mother in this case) claim the house, or the house will be mine?

Have him do a will. Otherwise you would split everything 50/50 with his son. The mom would get nothing. Or, have him add you to the house deed. But without a will, everything else will be split with the son.
