Question

I received a termination of tenancy on my door recently the landlord and I had a verbal agreement on a month to month for the last 2 yrs prior I had a 2 year lease . I live in co-op I always paid my rent on time with checks . the neighbors next to me started to complain about loud nose and started calling security for the stupidest things ,not partying not really having a lot of guest not loud music etc.. the management in the co-op and our neighbors I believe was abusing authority calling all the time I had security even said to me sometimes they wouldn't even report it because they seen it too but then I started getting fined because the neighbor started going to the office but I paid them and.. I believe the co-op started putting pressure on my landlord to evict me one time my neighbor called because my toilet was running and got my toilet fixed when I first moved in what rights do I have ?

Answer

It looks like the landlord is terminating your lease for no reason. The L doesn't need a reason. Assuming he gives a full month's notice (a notice served on January 2 would speak as of February 1 and the soonest a court proceeding can be started would be March 1. If you can prove that the coop put pressure on the unit owner then we could have a field day with this; but how are you going to prove this?

You either convince your landlord to withdraw the notice or you move. Not much in the way of alternatives.
